Alonsa Guevara’s work blends reality and fantasy in such a way that her images become a profound meditation on the cycle of life and the power of nature.

A Chilean-American artist (b. 1986, Rancagua, Chile), Guevara's multidisciplinary practice is rooted in oil painting and seamlessly expands into sculpture, installation, sound, and children’s literature. Because her life has unfolded across three distinct countries (Chile, Ecuador, and the United States), she draws upon a rich cultural foundation to explore complex themes of identity, belonging, and womanhood.

Deeply passionate about fostering community and helping fellow creatives thrive, Guevara is the Co-Owner of Bay Ridge Art Space in NYC and Revival Murals in LA.

She holds an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BFA from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and has been awarded numerous grants and residencies, including the Muralist Award for LAMI & San Pedro Waterfront Arts District in San Pedro, CA; the Tashkeel Art Residency in Dubai; the Eric Fischl ’66 Artist-in-Residence Teaching Program at WNA, USA; the NYAA Fellowship Award; and the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant.

Alonsa's work has been published in Forbes Magazine, Time Out NYC, VICE, and The National News UAE, among others, and has been exhibited internationally, including in China, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Denmark, Argentina, Chile, and throughout the USA. Her most recent solo show, Frutos del Tiempo, was in 2024 at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts in Texas.
